Year 1

Welcome to Year 1!


We are absolutely delighted to welcome you and your child to Year 1. This year, the class will be taught by Miss Ryan, with support from Miss Summersbee, Mrs Lawrence, and Miss Scott.
Please see the attached Topic Overview for an outline of the exciting learning and activities we’ll be exploring this term! 


Key Information

● Physical Education (PE): Mondays and Wednesdays
● Homework: Set every Thursday and due the following Tuesday
● Reading: Daily reading is expected, with five entries recorded each
week in your child’s reading record
● Spelling Tests: Every Friday

Your support at home makes a huge difference. Encouraging your child to read daily, practise spellings, and complete homework helps to build strong learning habits and confidence.
