Year 5 Science: Exploring Plant Reproduction π·
Published 29/04/26In Science this week, we began our new topic on how plants reproduce. The children enjoyed a practical lesson investigating the different parts of a plant and learning about their functions. Using tulips, complete with stems, leaves and flowers, the children carefully observed the outside of the plant before dissecting it to explore its structure in more detail. It was a fantastic hands-on lesson that sparked curiosity and enthusiasm for our new topic.

Year 6 Explore the Significance of World War II
Published 27/04/26Year 6 completed their History Unit 2 by creating timelines of the significant events of the Second World War. They then considered our Big Question: Which was the most significant event of the Second World War and why? The children shared thoughtful opinions and justified their ideas using evidence from their learning last term. We were impressed by their historical knowledge, critical thinking and ability to debate different viewpoints.

Cricket Skills in Year 5 PE π
Published 25/04/26In PE, we continued developing our cricket skills by learning how to bowl using an overarm technique. We focused on making sure our deliveries were accurate, avoiding wide balls and ensuring the ball bounced no more than twice. We then used our aiming skills to try to hit the wicket, showing great concentration and improving our bowling accuracy.

Netball Tournament Success

Published 14/04/26This week in Computing, we explored space-themed music inspired by Gustav Holst. We listened to pieces linked to Mars, Venus and Jupiter, sharing our thoughts on how the music made us feel.
We also imagined what music astronauts on Artemis II might connect with as they look back at Earth from the Moon sparking some brilliant discussions!

πΌ Year 4 β A Wonderful Start to the Term πΌ
Published 14/04/26Year 4 have had a fantastic start to the new term! We began the week by exploring our Catholic Social Teaching focus, Dignity of the Human Person, during Monday’s assembly.
Back in the classroom, the children thoughtfully discussed how we can show dignity and respect to others in our everyday lives. They then expressed their ideas creatively by making some beautiful daffodils, which are now proudly displayed in the hall for everyone to enjoy.
