In Science this week, we began our new topic on how plants reproduce. The children enjoyed a practical lesson investigating the different parts of a plant and learning about their functions. Using tulips, complete with stems, leaves and flowers, the children carefully observed the outside of the plant before dissecting it to explore its structure in more detail. It was a fantastic hands-on lesson that sparked curiosity and enthusiasm for our new topic.

In PE, we continued developing our cricket skills by learning how to bowl using an overarm technique. We focused on making sure our deliveries were accurate, avoiding wide balls and ensuring the ball bounced no more than twice. We then used our aiming skills to try to hit the wicket, showing great concentration and improving our bowling accuracy.

Well done to all the children who took part in the netball tournament. They were praised for their hard work and excellent teamwork throughout. We are very proud of their achievement in finishing second in their group what a fantastic effort!

In Year 3 PE, we started our new topic on core strength and stability. We practised balancing and holding a range of positions, focusing on controlling our bodies while maintaining steady breathing.

Year 4 have had a fantastic start to the new term! We began the week by exploring our Catholic Social Teaching focus, Dignity of the Human Person, during Monday’s assembly.

Back in the classroom, the children thoughtfully discussed how we can show dignity and respect to others in our everyday lives. They then expressed their ideas creatively by making some beautiful daffodils, which are now proudly displayed in the hall for everyone to enjoy.
