As part of their Geography learning, Year 5 pupils asked thoughtful questions to discover how our Year 1 children travel to school.   • Eternal Life: Understanding Christian Beliefs ✝️

    In our recent learning, we explored the Christian belief in eternal life. We looked at the symbols used during a funeral Mass and discussed how these connect to baptism and the resurrection of Jesus. We also considered why funerals are important to Christians and linked our discussions to key virtues.

  • Year 4–Macbeth on Trial! ⚖️

    Today in English, Year 4 received an unexpected letter! It was from the Nobles and Barons of Scotland, informing us that Macbeth is going on trial. We have been asked to gather evidence and prepare a discussion text, presenting a balanced argument about whether Macbeth is to blame for all the tragedy in Scotland.

  • Year 5 Science: Exploring Plant Reproduction 🌷

    In Science this week, we began our new topic on how plants reproduce. The children enjoyed a practical lesson investigating the different parts of a plant and learning about their functions. Using tulips, complete with stems, leaves and flowers, the children carefully observed the outside of the plant before dissecting it to explore its structure in more detail. It was a fantastic hands-on lesson that sparked curiosity and enthusiasm for our new topic.

  • Year 6 Explore the Significance of World War II

    Year 6 completed their History Unit 2 by creating timelines of the significant events of the Second World War. They then considered our Big Question: Which was the most significant event of the Second World War and why? The children shared thoughtful opinions and justified their ideas using evidence from their learning last term. We were impressed by their historical knowledge, critical thinking and ability to debate different viewpoints.

  • Cricket Skills in Year 5 PE 🏏

    In PE, we continued developing our cricket skills by learning how to bowl using an overarm technique. We focused on making sure our deliveries were accurate, avoiding wide balls and ensuring the ball bounced no more than twice. We then used our aiming skills to try to hit the wicket, showing great concentration and improving our bowling accuracy.
