Wellbeing

At St Thomas More Catholic Primary School, the wellbeing of every child is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, happy, valued and supported. Our nurturing environment encourages children to develop confidence, resilience and positive relationships, enabling them to thrive both academically and personally.

We are committed to promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing across our school community. Through our Catholic values, pastoral support and dedicated staff, we help children develop the skills they need to manage emotions, build self-esteem and overcome challenges.

We are fortunate to have trained ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) staff within school who provide targeted support for children who may need additional help with emotional wellbeing, social skills, friendships, self-confidence, bereavement, anxiety or managing feelings. ELSA sessions are designed to help children feel understood, supported and equipped with strategies to cope with life's challenges.

We work closely with parents, carers and external agencies where appropriate to ensure that every child receives the support they need. By working together, we can help all children flourish and achieve their full potential.

If you have any concerns about your child's wellbeing, please speak to your child's class teacher or contact the school office.
