Admissions Information

Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision, and we warmly welcome families to learn more about life at St Thomas More Catholic Primary School.

As an academy, admissions are managed by the Academy Committee. We welcome applications from all families, regardless of faith or background. Full details can be found in our Admissions Policy below.

We encourage prospective parents and carers to visit our school, meet our staff, and experience our caring and inclusive community firsthand. To arrange a tour, please contact the school office.

Reception Admissions

We are delighted that you are considering St Thomas More Catholic Primary School for your child’s Reception year.

Children are admitted to our Early Years Unit (Reception Class) through the Local Authority’s Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme and can start school in the September following their fourth birthday.

To apply for a Reception place, parents and carers must complete their home Local Authority’s Reception Admission Application Form. Families living in Oxfordshire can apply through the Oxfordshire County Council admissions process. If you live outside Oxfordshire, please apply through your own Local Authority and follow their published deadlines.

In addition to the Local Authority application, parents and carers are asked to complete the school’s Supplementary Information Form (SIF), which can be found within our Admissions Policy and downloaded below. This form provides the Academy Committee with the information needed to allocate places in line with the school’s published admissions criteria.

If you are applying under a Catholic admissions category, please submit a copy of your child’s Certificate of Catholic Baptism or Reception alongside the Supplementary Information Form. Without this supporting evidence, your application may be placed in a different admissions category.

Please note that all applications are considered strictly in accordance with the school’s Admissions Policy. Applying early does not give priority over other applicants.

We warmly welcome visits from prospective families and would be delighted to show you around our school. To arrange a visit, please contact the school office.

Come and discover our caring Catholic community, where every child is encouraged to grow, learn and flourish.
