Cohort Entry:

Our Age 2 Nursery Cohort

At Thomas More, we are pleased to offer a dedicated space for our 2-year-old children, providing a nurturing and age-appropriate environment tailored to the unique needs of younger learners.

Our 2-year-old cohort benefits from:

  • Smaller group sizes, ensuring more individual attention and a gentle introduction to nursery life.

  • A play-based curriculum that supports early communication, social skills, and independence.

  • Experienced Early Years practitioners who specialise in working with younger children and supporting their emotional wellbeing.

  • A carefully designed environment that encourages exploration, movement, and sensory experiences.

We work closely with families to ensure a smooth transition into nursery and provide regular updates on your child’s development and progress. Our goal is to build strong foundations in a warm, caring setting where every child feels safe, valued, and ready to grow.

If you would like more information about places for 2-year-olds or think your child may be eligible for funded sessions, please contact the school office. We’ll be happy to help.

Our Age 3 Nursery Cohort

At St. Thomas More, our 3-year-old cohort is welcomed into a vibrant and engaging learning environment designed to nurture growing independence, curiosity, and a love of learning.

Children in our 3-year-old group benefit from:

  • A rich and varied Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, focused on learning through play, exploration, and meaningful experiences.

  • Opportunities to develop important skills such as language, communication, social interaction, early numeracy, and creativity.

  • Access to both indoor and outdoor learning environments, encouraging physical development and discovery.

  • Support from a team of experienced Early Years practitioners who tailor learning to each child's individual needs and interests.

Many children in this age group are eligible for 15 or 30 hours of government-funded childcare, and we are happy to support families in understanding and accessing their entitlements.

Our nurturing and structured approach helps prepare children for the transition into the Reception year and sets strong foundations for future learning and success.
