Paddington Family is taught by Mrs Ewers.

Mrs Bowman, Mrs J Knight, Miss Summersbee and Mrs Lawrence also support learning in Reception
Class.
All children require trainers for outdoor play and wellington boots. Each child also requires a book
bag and water bottle which should be carried in to school separately each day. Thank you for clearly
labelling all items.

Our PE day is Wednesdays, your child should wear full St Thomas More PE kit to school on
Wednesdays along with their school shoes. Children will change into trainers for their PE lesson.
No jewellery is permitted for PE lessons as per our uniform policy. Thank you for supporting this.

Your child will bring home a Phonics reading book each week, the book is at the correct level for
them. Our reading homework expectation is that each child reads at home 5 times weekly and this is
to be recorded in their reading journal which will also be brought home daily.

Your child will also bring a reading for pleasure book home each week and we ask that you share this
with your child to further support their love of reading. Books are changed weekly so that we
support and encourage fluency.
Your child will also read in school a minimum of 3 times each week, where we support decoding,
prosody (reading with expression) and comprehension.
Children should have their reading books and reading journals in school every day.
